“Keep up the good work Ms. Hickmon!”

This month we are celebrating the success of Ms. Mamie Hickmon at Springdale Healthcare Center! Ms. Hickmon was admitted to Springdale from Prisma Health- Tuomey where she was diagnosed with chest pain, chronic kidney disease, and acute kidney injury. Ms. Hickmon required increased assistance with self care and was unable to ambulate or transfer on arrival due to weakness and impaired coordination.

Mamie participated in occupational therapy and physical therapy where she has displayed great gains in various areas including: coordination, strength, dynamic balance, and functional activity tolerance.  Mamie can now complete transfers with modified independence, complete self care tasks independently, and walk approximately 300ft using a rolling walker. She is all smiles and remains active daily in and out of therapy.

Mamie remains dedicated and continues to work hard towards her long-term goals. Springdale facility and staff are super proud of her progress and outcomes!
